Not too long ago the Cock was a straightforward, no frills boozer: all Sky Sports on the screens and 2 for 1 meal deals on the menus; the nearest this part of Fulham got to a local.

Now, relaunched as SW6's only brewpub, it's a smarter affair. The beers brewed onsite - Bonobo and Weasel - are well worth a try, but even if you don't feel like giving it a go, the other great choices include offerings from Greenwich's Meantime Brewery, the rare-as-hen's-teeth Adnam's Oyster Stout and the more common sights of Erdinger and Budvar.

The pleasant and chatty staff are another feather in this one's cap, as is the space out the back for a summertime drink.

And whilst the clientele may not be as diverse as the famous imbibers whose photos hang on the wall (when's the last time you saw Grace Jones next to Winston Churchill?), this one's arguably now the most appealing pub in this part of town.

To top it all off, it's just won an award for one of the most improved pubs in London by Fancyapint.com's reviewers.
