The forecast for this weekend is looking pretty tasty, with the promised land of 20-degrees-plus temperatures very much on the cards.

It seems like it’s time, then, to go al fresco. From outdoor rosé pop-ups to a club night on one of London’s best terraces, there’s plenty going on in the capital to let you soak up the rays as you go.

Elsewhere, there are one-off dining events, trippy art installations and a brunch dedicated to one of the world’s biggest music stars. Here’s what to get up to.

The restaurant: Whyte Rushen x Burger and Lobster

Handout

Foodie pop-up favourite Whyte Rushen — who has previously spent time in the kitchens of Brat, Scully St James and Kerridge’s — is heading to the Bread Street branch of Burger and Lobster to serve up this one-night menu. Built around (you guessed it) beef and lobster, the four-course meal will range from beef tartare with salted egg yolk sauce, frozen scamorza cheese, beef fat brioche and hot sauce, to white chocolate and lobster fat crème brûlée.

£65pp, May 15, 1 Bread Street, EC4M 9BE, burgerandlobster.com

The bar: Covent Garden’s Rosé Garden Party

This Covent Garden pop-up dedicated to all things pink and fizzy is entering its final few days, so this weekend is your last chance to visit. Expect six pop-up bars and drinks trucks serving rosé in sorts of ways — in flutes, cocktails, cooled ‘til it’s frozen, and more — with plenty of dining options courtesy of the local restaurants, too.

Until May 15, WC2E, coventgarden.london

The exhibition: Dreamachine

David Levene

Unboxed, the nationwide festival celebrating creativity in the UK, is now well underway, and one of the most intriguing of the 10, free-to-attend projects is Dreamachine. It’s an audiovisual experience that aims to trigger psychedelic visions in its users simply by using flickering light — if it sounds pretty wild, that’s because it is. Check out our five-star review here.

Free (book ahead), until July 24, Woolwich Public Market, SE18 7BZ, dreamachine.world

The event: Wandsworth Bridge Road Spring Fayre

Wandsworth Bridge Road will be closed off to traffic on Sunday, so that it can be taken over by a Spring Fayre. There will be plenty to explore — shopping stalls, food vendors, music, comedy, kids’ activities, and even a maypole with a live fiddle player. All the entertainment and children’s events are free.

The club night: Secretsundaze Summer Opening Party at Oval Space

For two decades now, Giles Smith and James Priestley have been doing their thing as Secretsundaze, the DJ and production duo that has grown into one of London’s most popular parties. This day-to-night shindig is part of the anniversary celebrations, headlined by house hero Jeremy Underground, and also featuring sets out on Oval Space’s al fresco terrace — a surefire sign that summer is almost upon us.

From £25, 29-32 The Oval, E2 9DT, ra.co

The wildcard: Cardi B.runch at Barrio Soho

Press handout

Cardi B will be making her way to the capital this July as the Friday headliner at Wireless in Finsbury Park, but if you can’t wait until then, this themed brunch might be the next best thing. Promising non-stop R&B blaring through the speakers, a two-course meal, 90 minutes of bottomless booze (including the punnily named Cardi Breezer cocktails), twerk-offs, lip-syncs and more, it’s going to be a fun one.

From £40, May 14, 6 Poland Street, W1F 8PS, barriobars.com/soho
