Rock n' roll at Village Underground

Stumblin' Slims takes inspiration from the '50s
5 April 2012

A new 1950s rock n' roll night is coming to the Village Underground on Saturday, October 1.

Hosted by the team behind The Blues Kitchen, Stumblin' Slims will recreate the girly glamour and leather-clad essence of 1950s and 1960s Hollywood in East London.

A soundtrack of original rock n' roll tracks and live bands should capture the vibe of the era. Think bequiffed guys and gingham clad girls drinking from punch bowls and doing the jive.

The event will feature live music from The Langley Sisters, an all-girl three part harmony group whose vintage hits herald back to a golden Hollywood age.

Also performing will be The Caezars - London's alternative garage outfit and one-man boogie band Dollar Bill. Plus, Voola & The Jayhawks.

Later on, Gizzi Erskine will be showcasing her DJ skills before Hits Don't Hurt spin vintage records and dance floor fillers.

The highlight of the night will be the Stumblin' Slims twist contest, where couples can win prizes.

Tickets from £10 (advance)- £20 (door) For more information visit www.theblueskitchen.com
