London’s highest-ever cinema screening coming soon
Iconic, morally questionable 1990 romcom Pretty Woman is to be screened, with glorious views over London.
On May 24, Luna Cinema will put on the film 35 floors up at the Sky Garden, in what is thought to be London’s highest-ever cinema screening. It will also be the first time a film has been shown at the Sky Garden.
Pretty Woman tells the story of incompetent driver and lonely businessman Edward Lewis (Richard Gere), who hires strawberry-loving fan of I Love Lucy, prostitute Vivian Ward (Julia Roberts). The film follows the pair as they have sex on a Grand Piano, watch polo, cry at La Traviata and win over the affections of good-guy hotel manager Barney Thompson (Hector Elizondo), all which culminates in their falling in love – with each other, not Barney.
Tickets to the event, which include a drink at the Sky Garden bar, begin at £35, though for £60, guests can enjoy a meal at the Darwin Brasserie or, for £75, at the excellent Fenchurch restaurant.
