London Beer Week's must-attend events

Drinking up time: London beer week is coming
Sophia E. Lipp14 March 2018

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s London Beer Week, here to brighten up your March days.

While it doesn’t look like March’s chilliness will let up anytime soon, London Beer Week provides an opportunity to seek solace in some tasty pints.

So, drink your heart away at the week’s must-attend events, ranging from immersive dining experiences to meet-and-greets with your favourite craft brewers.

Taste Kansas City’s best at All Star Lanes

Boulevard Brewing Co.

Good news: Boulevard Brewing Co. is bringing its best brews to London all the way from the Midwest. Bad news: most of these beers are only readily available in the US, meaning that if you fall in love with one of your flights, you're out of luck. But the trade-off is worth it, because for £15 you can sample five of the company’s most flavoursome (and interestingly titled) beers, such as their famous Love Child No. 8, at All Star Lanes on Wednesday night. End the night by grabbing a complimentary Boulevard branded glass on your way out, and eagerly await the day these brews come to Britain.

Get your Czech on at Staropramen’s Spirit of Prague Banquet

Staropramen
Staropramen

Delight your taste buds by experiencing the best of Czech brewing and eating at Staropramen’s Spirit of Prague Banquet this Thursday. Set in 90s Prague and held at a secret East London location, guests will be divided into two guilds – either Tap Masters or Brew Masters – and treated to an immersive dining experience that includes a four-course meal paired perfectly with two serves of Staropramen’s best. The two guilds will then have the chance to participate in a friendly competition against the other, and along the way, learn all the secrets to pouring the perfect Prague pint. If we haven't already convinced you, tickets go for only £35, and you'll feel like a celebrity when the venue details are texted to you the day-of.

Visit Redchurch Brewery Thursday, Friday or Saturday

(Redchurch Brewery)

Hidden beneath one of Poyser Street’s railway arches is the tasty Redchurch Brewery, and for London Beer Week, the crew are opening their doors to visitors. Head there from 5pm to midnight on Thursday and Friday or 2pm and half twelve on Saturday to sample three of Redchurch’s locally-inspired brews for only £5 a flight. For a lighter beer, try the Benthal Pale Ale, a tropical mix of floral and fruity tastes. If you’re looking for something heavier, get your buzz on with the Old Ford Export Stout, a rich, chocolatey number ringing in at a whopping 7.5%.

Watch the Six Nations final at The White Horse

(The White Horse)

Head over to The White Horse to enjoy London’s biggest collection of craft brews over some football. With around 40 beers to taste from East London Brewing Co.’s Pale Ale, Little Beer Co.’s Little Haka and Little Kahuna, and London Brewing Co.’s Skyline, The White Horse boasts the title of LBW’s Craft Beer Hub, making it the epicentre for the weeks festivities. Many of their beers change daily, so perhaps more than one trip to this Victorian-style pub is due throughout the week.

Brunch & Brew at Ceremony

Ceremony
Ceremony

Conclude your week of excessive drinking with a hearty brunch and – you guessed it – more beer. Owned by London Beer Week’s festival director Ali Dedianko, Ceremony’s completely meatless menu will stun and delight both vegetarians and meat-lovers alike. Turn up here for a £10 Sunday brunch with your fellow London Beer Week-goers, so long as you have your LBW Festival Pass in hand. Enjoy your meal with a complimentary can of Wild Beer Co.’s Bibble Pale Ale and head home for some well-needed relaxation.
