Kylie gets us in a spin at the V&A

Staff Reporter5 April 2012

It has been accused of dumbing down by the critics but the V&A's much-anticipated Kylie exhibition looks set to be the museum's most popular show ever.

Demand for the free tickets has been so high that organisers have introduced a timed ticketing system to accommodate fans eager to get an eyeful of those infamous gold hot pants.

Spanning two decades of the pop princess's career, the display marks the first time the V&A has honoured a performer with an exhibition and features over 200 items, including a replica of the star's dressing room from her current Showgirl Homecoming tour.

A pink John Galliano beaded corset and a Dolce & Gabbana leopard print catsuit are among the 45 costumes on display, as well as the odd fashion faux pas, including a pair of not-so-stylish denim dungarees worn by her character in the Australian soap, Neighbours.

Kylie - The Exhibition, V&A South Kensington, Cromwell Road, SW7 2RL. 020 7942 2000. 8 February - 10 June 2007. Admission is free. Visit www.vam.ac.uk to book
