A giant water slide is coming to King’s Cross

This promises to be much more fun than the tube
Splashing out: the fountains at Granary Square offer more water fun

Hot on the heels of the arrival of a pair of slides on the South Bank, King’s Cross is getting in on the action with a giant water slide installation.

The 100m long inflatable will be in place at King's Boulevard behind King’s Cross station this Friday and Saturday (June 19-20), offering Londoners and commuters alike a bit of wet fun in the sun.

If the slide was propped up on its end, it would be just shy of the top of the London Eye.

It’s all happening in the name of advertising, with Lipton iced tea behind the gimmick as part of its ‘be a day breaker’ campaign. You can sign up for free tickets on its website – just don’t forget to bring a towel.
