A floating wine festival is coming to London next month

Docking up: The festival will hit London in late September

Occasional floating feelings are common when consuming wine but a new boozy festival coming to London is making it the norm.

London’s first ever floating wine festival is docking up on the Thames on September 22 and September 23.

The two-day drink festival called Wine Over Water will take place on the Tamesis Dock Boat located on Albert Embankment and will feature winemakers from around the world.

Guests will get to sample award-winning wines from Hungary, South Africa, France, Italy, Romania, Australia, New Zealand and the UK, while soaking up views of the Houses of Parliament and the Tate.

Attendees can learn about current wine trends and take part in blind tasting competitions — with alcoholic prizes to be won.

Food is covered too, in the form of marine-themed nibbles which will be based on historical dishes served on old British vessels.

Tickets cost £25 and include eight tasting samples. For extra-thirsty attendees, wines will also be available to buy on the day too.

The folks behind the event are Wanderlust Wine, a company that represents artisanal producers from around the world.

Albert Embankment, SE1 7TP, tickets can be purchased here.
