It’s been a very good year for Tom Hiddleston so far, after becoming a huge hit thanks to his turn in the BBC’s big-budget series The Night Manager.

The espionage thriller was adapted from John Le Carre’s novel, and aired on Sunday nights with Hiddleston in the lead role.

By the end of the sixth and final episode in the series, fans were left wanting more – but with the story reaching the conclusion of Le Carre’s book, a return for the show isn’t guaranteed.

Speaking on the Graham Norton Show, Hiddleston hinted again that the show isn’t yet coming back.

“The truth is we came to the end of the adaptation and there is no more night to be managed thus far. It's in the lap of Le Carré himself,” he said, adding: “But you never know."

The actor also spoke about the rumours that he could be the next James Bond, despite Daniel Craig not having officially stepped down.

“What can I tell you? The thing is the position isn’t vacant as far as I am aware. No one has talked to me about it,” he admitted.
