The current series of The Apprentice is reaching the later stages of the process – and it’s getting tougher for the candidates.

Two business hopefuls were fired this week after failing to impress Lord Sugar.

The head honcho tasked the remaining contestants with creating and branding a virtual reality video game – with predictably shonky results.

While Team Nebula’s bizarre Gordon’s Lost His Badger stuck in the minds of industry experts, Team Titan were less successful with the dull-looking Magic Shells.

The first casualty of the boardroom was Dillon St. Paul, who was accused by Lord Sugar of not listening to other people’s ideas.

“Dillon, you’ve been labelled the creative person, but at the end of the day this wasn’t creative,” he declared.

“You know what, Sofiane disregards instructions but you’re exactly the same I think. I think once you get something in your head, you’re not going to listen to anybody.”

Sugar told Dillon he was a ‘nice person’ – choosing to fire him ‘with regret’.

“I keep hearing ‘had you had your time again, if you did this again, had you rethought it again’, and whilst you are a very, very, very nice person Dillon...I don’t think you have the potential to be my business partner,” he admitted.

“It is with regret – Dillon, you’re fired.”

Also getting the boot was Project Manager Sofiane Khelfa – with Lord Sugar saying he didn’t think he could ‘deal with’ the divisive candidate.

“Sofiane, so many people tell me that you’ve got no regard for their ideas. You do your own thing, I can’t deal with people like that,” he said.

“It’s getting very, very close to the end now. Sofiane, you go on your own, you do your own thing.

"I’m finding it difficult that you are a potential winner, Sofiane you’re fired!”

Six candidates will be heading into the next round – with the dreaded interviews round taking place in two weeks’ time.
