A candidate on BBC business reality show The Apprentice abruptly walked out of the process in the latest episode.

Aleksandra King suddenly left the series, leaving the rest of her team in stunned silence.

Before work even began on Lord Sugar’s latest task, King made a declaration in the planning meeting.

“You guys, I just have to say something. I’m going to leave the process,” she told the team, leaving them dumbfounded.

“I’m really sorry, I just… I’m just not enjoying it.”

Asked by one of the others if it was a wind-up, she continued: “No, it’s not a joke.

“I’m really sorry, but I’m going to go. Good luck, guys.”

Project manager Grainne gathered the rest of the team, evidently in a state of surprise.

“OK, that’s a bit of a shock to the system,” she said. “I actually thought it was a joke. Obviously not, she’s gone.”

Speaking away from her competitors, King admitted: “I have found the process overwhelming and stressful and really intense, and I just want to go home to my kids and my husband now. Right now.”

The rest of the team continued in the task, venturing to London’s renowned department store Liberty to sell scarves and handbags. The team with the highest profit at the end the sales day is declared the winner.

Tune in to see who makes it, and which candidate is sent home.
