During The Apprentice, the candidates often have to turn their hands to skills that aren’t exactly business-oriented.

In Episode 1, it was making fish fingers – and this time around, Ruth is forced to give modelling a go after a mistake in production.

With a task based around creating and marketing a new shampoo brand, the girls’ team decide to go for a slightly older target market – an interesting idea, though when they turn up to shoot their commercial there’s a problem.

The two models that have been hired by the project manager to appear in the video are much younger than their target market.

With 47 year-old team member Ruth Whiteley being the oldest member of the team, she takes action and steps in front of the camera as the new face of the campaign.

“Well I’m going to have to be in the advert, because I’m the only one that’s our target market,” she concedes.

In minutes, Ruth is glammed up and ready to go as the wind machines are on and team-mate Jenny Garbis takes on the director role.
