Sugar Free Farm, ITV: Jennifer Ellison gags as she attempts to clean out manure pit

The dieting celebrities still aren’t prepared for the grimmer elements of farm life

Sugar Free Farm surely sounded like a quaint experience for the celebrities who hopped on board: follow a good diet, get plenty of fresh air, and meet some cute animals.

It didn’t quite turn out that way, though – swearing off sugar entirely, the first week saw dramatic results for several of the famous faces.

Adjusting to a sugar-free lifestyle left Jennifer Ellison needing to call on medical support within a few days, suffering from scary-looking withdrawal symptoms.

Still, getting used to not having sugar in any part of their diet has produced significant results – though the grimier aspects of farm life haven’t washed quite so well.

In the final episode, Jennifer Ellison is tasked with cleaning out a foul manure pit – and it looks like stomach-churningly dirty work.

“I never smelt a smell like it in my life,” a disgusted Ellison says. “Basically what’s happened is they’ve all weed in there, they’ve all pooed in there, it’s like festered in water for the whole of the summer with the sunlight on it, so you can imagine what the smell is like.”

All too true, Jennifer – rather you than us. Still, the former model and dancer gets stuck in – despite having to make a quick exit after spotting something particularly gross in the corner.
