Strictly’s AJ Pritchard defends brother Curtis after Love Island star makes Amy Hart cry

The professional dancer urged his brother to "stick with [his] heart" in the villa

Strictly Come Dancing professional AJ Pritchard has defended his brother Curtis’ behaviour on Love Island after he made “half-girlfriend” Amy Hart cry.

Last night’s episode of the ITV2 dating show saw the ballroom dancer tell Amy that there was “something missing” from their relationship after previously admitting that he is attracted to new islander Jourdan Raine.

His revelation left Amy in tears and the flight attendant went on to slam Curtis for his lack of “respect,” claiming that she had “basically” been “cheated on.”

Appearing on Lorraine this morning, the Strictly star stood up for his sibling, claiming that the other islanders are “blocking Amy” and that his brother had not “cheated.”

“It’s been portrayed that he’s kind of cheated on her, whereas realistically, yes he kissed another girl, but that was in a task,” he told presenter Lorraine Kelly, alluding to Curtis’ kiss with Jourdan earlier this week.

“He slept outside with Tommy in a bed. I feel like [Amy] does have to trust in Curtis, I know that it is hard.”

“The girls are blocking Amy,” he added, before explaining that his brother “wears his heart on his sleeve,” which can sometimes be his “downfall.”

He advised Curtis to “just go and talk to Amy and say exactly how he feels,” and told him to “stick to [his] heart.”

“I think he should stay with Amy,” he said. “Curtis does what he feels and he wants to get back with her.”

Tonight’s episode of Love Island looks set to further explore the tension in the pair’s relationship as a preview clip shows Amy calling Curtis a "liar" before storming off.

Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV from 8.30am-9.30am. Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
