Brain Conley has dismissed rumours that he ‘wants out’ of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing after only two weeks on the show.

The game show host shut down reports that he was only in the competition for the ‘short term’ with a post on Twitter.

“Just woke to news that I apparently want to be out of strictly what utter b*******! I’m loving this & 100% want to stay in as long as poss,” he wrote.

It was reported that Conley had been discussing his exit from the show, telling friends he was ‘expecting to head off to panto’.

A source told The Sun: “Brian clearly sees his involvement in the show as pretty short-term.

“He’s been telling people he’s only got minimal time left and is already expecting to head off to panto.

“He survived last week’s dance off against [Holby City actress Chizzy Akadolu] despite his expectations of an early exit, but obviously others are desperate to stay for as long as possible.”

The comedian and actor is a contestant in the current series of the BBC ballroom show and was almost sent home last week after facing off against Holby City’s Chizzy Akadolu in the bottom two.

He is due to star as Buttons in the Milton Keynes Theatre’s production of Cinderella from December 9.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday, October 7 at 6.35pm on BBC One.
