Alexandra Burke has hit back at reports claiming she was arguing with her Strictly Come Dancing partner Gorka Marquez as they prepared for their second dance-off.

Burke, 29, was said to be “bickering” with Marquez as he attempted to give her some words of advice ahead of competing against Davood Ghadami.

“There was obvious tension between Alex and Gorka as soon as they got ready for the dance-off,” a source told The Sun. “As he gave her a few words of wisdom on how to improve for it, she straight away went in on him.

“She couldn’t stop bickering with him and saying things like, ‘I’m not having that’ and ordering him about.”

They finished: “Gorka was taken aback with it all and was sighing and rolling his eyes.”

Burke hit back at the “lies,” claiming the constant speculation about her is affecting her mental health.

She tweeted: “I'm finding it very hard to read all of the lies published about me. I've tried my best to be strong and brush it all off but mentally it's taking it's toll.

It hurts so much to read yet another fake story when all I want to do is enjoy this journey on Strictly. Please spread love... life is just too short for all of this.”

Her post comes a day after she was forced to defend herself in the wake of reports that she was “inconsolable” after suffering a backstage meltdown on Sunday night’s results show.

Shutting down the report she said: “Because it’s really hard to read lies. I have to say something… after the show on the weekend I actually WASN’T in the green room,” she wrote.

“I was in the physio room treating an injury then went home. No meltdown… just happy that we made it through another week.”

Burke found herself in the bottom two for a second consecutive week after receiving poor support from the public.

The former X Factor star, whose mother died ahead of the current series of the BBC ballroom show, was accused of fake crying by some.
