After a launch show which paid tribute to the show’s late presenter, Bruce Forsyth, the Strictly Come Dancing 2017 couples have been revealed.

Aston Merrygold, whose dancing experience as part of band JLS saw him become early favourite, has been paired with Janette Manrara.

The professional dancer has never won the series, so will no doubt be hoping her partnership with Merrygold will take her all the way.

One of the most talked about pairings, that came as a surprise to no one was EastEnder’s Davood Ghadami and newcomer Nadiya Bychkova, after news that they had been put together leaked to the press earlier this week.

Bychkova has an especially impressive dance history, having been crowned world champion twice.

Paralympic gold-medallist Jonnie Peacock was matched with Oti Mabuse, who after reaching the final with her talented partner Danny Mac in 2016, will no doubt be angling for a similarly successful run.

Read on for the full list of pairings.
