Paul McCartney is one of the greatest songwriters in the world – and he’s about to reveal more about his process in a new extended interview.

The Beatles legend will be taking part in a special edition of BBC Radio 4 show Mastertapes, talking about his career with host John Wilson.

The hour-long special will be recorded at Maida Vale studios on May 11, and will be broadcast on May 28 – and you can apply to be in the audience.

Fans can apply for tickets via the Mastertapes BBC website, but it's only open for 24 hours – so be sure to get in there quick.

“Mastertapes looks at the nuts and bolts of song writing and draws back the curtain on what can often be a private and sometimes lonely art. Having interviewed McCartney many times before, I know he offers great insight into that process,” Wilson said.
