Man proposes on Jeremy Kyle Show and gets massively awkward response

Here’s why you should never make a grand romantic gesture on a show about relationship problems

Of all the things Jeremy Kyle has seen over the years, this might be a new one – a man proposed to his wife on the show, immediately after passing a lie detector test.

The proposal came during a segment named ‘Is my fiancé having sex with other women at the funfair?’

Although they are already engaged, Jordan decided to propose again to Amie on the show to prove his commitment.

Ahead of the lie detector reveal, Jordan said: “Before them results are opened, I want to say, I got a ring in my pocket and if I pass this test I’m going to propose to you on this stage.”

When the test proved that Jordan had never cheated on Amie, she took the results card and bolted from the stage.

Following her through to the behind-the-scenes area, Jordan got down on one knee and asked: “Will you marry me?”

Despite answering “yes”, Amie covered her face up with the lie detector results card – which the host quickly took away so that Amie could “do it properly”.

With her head in her hands, Amie told her fiancé: “Oh my god, I hate you. Just hurry up and get it over with.”

The unhappy bride-to-be even shied her head away when Jordan went in for the kiss.

Don’t worry though – she did grudgingly say “I love you”, albeit at Kyle’s request.

Well, that’s one way to take your relationship to the next level.
