Lydia Bright mocked for being unable to answer Celebrity Mastermind questions on her favourite subject

Several pointed out the unfortunate irony of the reality star's surname

Lydia Bright has been mocked on social media after she failed to answer questions on her specialist subject during an episode of Celebrity Mastermind.

The reality star was quizzed on her favourite TV show Sex and the City, by host John Humphrys but was only able to give five correct answers out of 11.

When asked who was the only character to appear in the pilot episode of the show other than the main four women, a nonplussed Bright responded "Skipper" instead of the correct answer of Mr Big.

In another question, she had to give the job title of Miranda’s boyfriend Steve, but mispronounced bartender as "bar attender", losing a point.

She didn’t fare much better in the general knowledge round which saw her guess that the sea between Norway and the UK was the Pacific and suggest that hydrangeas rather than hops were used to make beer.

Viewers slated Bright for her poor performance, with several pointing out the unfortunate irony of the TOWIE castmember’s surname.

“I’m absolutely amazed that Lydia Bright knew the way back to her seat #celebritymastermind,” joked one.

“Lydia from TOWIE proving she’s anything but bright,” wrote another.

While a third asked: “Whatever was Lydia Bright’s agent thinking?”

However, some fans stuck up for Bright, pointing out that she had appeared on the show for charity.

One posted: “Please Twitter, why does anyone feel the need to directly contact Lydia Bright and abuse her for her performance on #celebritymastermind? She did it for charity. People are hateful.”

Another commented: “Lydia Bright may not have done well in #celebritymastermind but at least she was brave enough to give a shot.”
