Zara Holland came face-to-face with the new Miss Great Britain in a dramatic episode of Loose Women.

The former Love Island contestant, who was stripped of her Miss GB title after sleeping with Alex Bowen on the show, had a rather fiery confrontation with her successor on Thursday.

Deone Robertson, who originally came runner-up in the competition, joined the panel alongside Holland.

After describing losing the crown as the “most devastating thing in my life”, Holland said to Robertson:

“You didn’t win the title. In my opinion, if it was the other way around, I would stand up for women.”

Robertson hit back: “If I didn't take it, third or fourth would have taken it instead. It was my dream as well - you gave it up.

“I don't want to take away from what Zara's done - no one's taking that away - we just felt her views and opinions had changed.”

When asked who she meant by “we”, Robertson responded: “Me and the Miss Great Britain establishment. For instance, did you do any charity work afterwards?

“That was the rules, and when you represent any brand I think the same thing would have happened. You had a brand to protect.”

The Loose Women panellists came under fire for their interview with Holland, in which they appeared to criticise her for her behaviour on Love Island.

“You are supposed to be a role model. It's not an excuse,” Sherrie Hewson told her when she said alcohol was partly to blame.

Speaking to the Evening Standard back in June, Holland said of her de-throning: “I think it was quite sexist.

“I’ve had people say that if Alex was the equivalent of a Miss GB he probably wouldn’t have had his title stripped away from him. It takes two to tango – it wasn’t just me.”
