Chancellor Phillip Hammond has upset Loose Women fans after the show was cancelled in favour of live coverage of The Budget.

Regular viewers were met with ITV news anchor Tom Bradby, who was joined by Robert Peston, Allegra Stratton, Joel Hills and Chris Choi, for a special programme to analyse Hammond’s speech.

The decision riled fans who were left fuming by “this budget s***” as they were forced to seek out alternative lunchtime viewing.

One viewer tweeted: “No loose women? What a boring lunch time today's going to be!”

Another wrote: “No #loosewomen today cos of the poxy budget, nobody wants to watch this s***, you’ll find out how you’ve been affected later on in the Off Licence ffs #budget2017.”

Others celebrated the move with one tweeting: “Hooray! No #LooseWomen because of the budget!”

Another tweeted: “Loose Women cancelled tomorrow due to the Budget, Wish the Budget was on everyday.”

It comes months after fans were left ‘outraged’ when the show was scrapped on International Women’s Day for the Budget.

Disgruntled viewers expressed their frustration at the “weird” scheduling, while others were quick to highlight the “irony”.
