ITV's Long Lost Family has put over 200 people back in touch with their estranged relatives over the last six years.

Now a new series revisits some of the most compelling stories to see how the family members have fared.

What’s it about?

Long Lost Family: What Happened Next checks in with relatives who were put in touch on the show to discover – you guessed it – what happened next.

Whether it’s siblings, children or parents, the new series tracks their progress and finds out whether they’ve stayed in touch since appearing on the show.

Who is presenting it?

Davina McCall returns as host joined by BBC 5 Live’s Nicky Campbell, together they’ll chat to family members to find out more about how their relationships have developed since reuniting.

What happens in episode one?

The first show of the series focuses on two stories of reunited siblings. First up is Cliff Jardine and Sue Ward, who both applied to the show looking for birth mothers with the same name and a connection to Singapore.

The programme used DNA testing to prove that Jardine and Ward are related and both were overjoyed to find one another.

But in episode one – 18 months after the pair met – we discover that their birth mother has since chosen not to have contact with them.

The show also catches up with Ron Williams and sister Christine, who were reunited in series five after 60 years apart.

We see Ron travel to New Zealand to visit his sister and meet her family for the first time.

When is it on?

The show airs on ITV at 9pm tonight.
