I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! has been confirmed to be returning later this year, with Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly back on hosting duties only in a brand new setting.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis, which has thrown filming and production on the hit series into chaos, the series will look a lot different in 2020.

The contestants are now set to be sent to a ruined castle in Welsh countryside rather than the Australian jungle, with The Sun reporting that the haunted and crumbling Gwyrch Castle will be the setting for all the celebrity antics.

Some famous names are already being thrown around as fans scrabble to work out who may be taking part this year.

Let's look at who's been put forward so far...

Tamzin Outhwaite

Dave Benett

A source told The Sun that Outhwaite may have opted for I’m a Celeb over Strictly Come Dancing this year.

“It’s early days with Tamzin but she’s someone producers have discussed going to Oz in the autumn - and she’s told pals she is 100 per cent not taking part in Strictly.”

AJ Pritchard

BBC

The former Strictly Come Dancing professional quit the BBC dance show in March after four years on the show, seeking more opportunities in television alongside his brother, Love Island star Curtis.

Back in April, Pritchard remained tight-lipped on the I’m a Celeb rumours, neither confirming nor denying anything.

He told The Steph Show on Channel 4: “Well, let me put it like this, I’ve just cleaned out the loft as my mum has a list of jobs for us to do.

“The amount of spiders up there, I was screaming my head off. So, if anything like that did happen, it would be hilarious – that’s for sure!”

Vernon Kay

TV personality Vernon Kay reportedly signed a major deal to appear in this year’s series.

The Mirror reported in July that Kay had signed a £250k deal to take part, having been approached several times in the past.

"Everyone’s so pleased to have Vernon on board, he’s a lovely guy, full of down-to-earth northern charm and perfect for the show,” a source told the publication.

Eric Cantona

Way back in March, the I’m a Celeb bosses revealed they were desperate to get Manchester United star and actor Eric Cantona.

Show producer Richard Cowles told The Sun: “I just like the idea of Eric Cantona talking in French and coming up with really profound things. That would be good.”

The Vivienne

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne told Lorraine Kelly in July that she’d be open to appearing on the show.

“Do you know what, I’ve never even thought about it really but what an absolutely amazing opportunity that would be,” she said.

“I’m petrified of spiders but get me to that jungle, I’d do it! What a great life opportunity that I’m never going to get again… I’m all for that!”

Beverley Callard

In April, it was rumoured that I’m a Celeb had napped soap star Beverley Callard for the 2020 season.

According to The Mirror, Callard had become the first star to sign up for the show.

The Coronation Street legend announced her exit from the soap in 2019 to explore other roles.

Paul Merson

The Sun reported in July that I’m a Celeb bosses were pursuing Paul Merson for an appearance on the show.

“Paul is really keen to relaunch his TV career and thinks this is the best way to do it after he’s seen what it has done for his mate Harry Redknapp, but he needs it to be worth his while and is negotiating for a top price,” a source said.

Jessie J

The Sun also reported that pop star Jessie J was being pursued by I’m a Celeb producers.

“Jessie’s been offered good money but isn’t sure that the show is for her. She is keen to put her music first,” an insider said.

John Barnes

Rumours have been circulating for months that John Barnes had joined I’m a Celeb, and the footballer further stoked rumours speaking to BonusCodeBets.co.uk in May.

He said: “I’ve done a number of shows in my days, from Family Fortune to Strictly Come Dancing but nothing as adventurous as I’m a Celeb.

“And to be honest, there’s nothing that I wouldn’t eat or anything I wouldn’t do…I’m fairly easy-going, if they asked me to do something, I’d do it.”

“And from the point of view of eating anything, I eat everything and anything, so I’d probably be ideal for the show.”

Carole Baskin

Netflix

The controversial star of Netflix’s Tiger King was reportedly offered a major sum to appear on this year’s I’m a Celeb.

An insider told The Sun: “Jungle producers have made a formal approach and hope she will do it.”

Matt Baker

Matt Baker, who exited The One Show earlier this year, told Hello magazine he hadn’t ruled out heading into the jungle.

“I haven’t had any conversations yet but I am reluctant to say no to anything without having a good think about it,” he said.

Susanna Reid

Late last year, Good Morning Britain presenter and former contestant Kate Garraway told her colleague Susanna Reid that she could be next to head into the jungle (now castle).

Reid spurned the idea, saying: "No, I would get too hangry!"

Piers Morgan

Reid and Garraway’s colleague Piers Morgan, meanwhile, has implied that he’d be open to competing - but it would come at a price.

Responding to rumours on Twitter last year, Morgan wrote: “Sure.. £5 million & I’ll do it.”

If producers were after a GMB royal flush, bookies are now putting their bets on Ben Shephard heading to the castle this year.

The presenter is currently 2-1 (from 5-1) likely to appear on this year’s series, says bookmaker Coral.

Amy Hart

ITV

Love Island star Amy Hart has revealed she would “love” to take part in the series.

Addressing rumours that she might be appearing on the show this year, Hart said: “Well apparently so but I haven’t heard that, I mean I would love to do it.

“I love reality TV, I’ve been a big fan of Reality TV for years, and I love new experiences and learning new skills,” she told onlinecasinos.co.uk.

“There’s not a lot I wouldn’t do, just for fun. I just think where else are you going to get the chance to ballroom dance or ice skate.”

Kieran Hayler

Katie Price’s ex Kieran Hayler has revealed there have been early talks for him to take part in this year’s series.

Speaking to New! magazine, Hayler said: “I’d love to go on I’m A Celeb. I think there have been talks but I don’t know for sure.

“I’d love to do it because I’m into the outdoors anyway so for me it would be really cool.”

He continued: “I think it’s just the eating stuff I’d be a bit rubbish at – and it’s closer to home now I’ve heard! I am older, wiser and slimmer now – bootcamp fit for the jungle!”

Jenny Ryan

The Chase’s Jenny Ryan dropped a major hint that now that I’m a Celeb has changed location, she may be joining this year’s series.

"My main reservations about doing I'm A Celeb have always been 1. The Spiders 2. The Snakes 3. The Heat,” she said.

"This could be a big opportunity for ol' Jenny."
