Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt struggled in her first I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here challenge – leading fellow campmate Larry Lamb to come and rescue her.

The TV personality was tasked with paddling a canoe to a pontoon to retrieve a flag as the ITV reality show returned.

But a twist in the challenge meant that Moffatt had to unplug a hole in the bottom of her boat to release the flag.

After her canoe capsized, Moffatt got stuck in the lake – causing EastEnders and Gavin & Stacey actor Lamb to swim in and save the day.

“In the end, what are you going to do? She’s my team mate, so you've got to go and get her,” he said, diving back into the water.

“He’s not like the average 70 year-old,” Scarlett said. “He’s like superhuman or something.

“I’ve had to be saved by Larry because I can’t swim! I’m literally never going to live this down.”

Lamb sounded hopeful that his good deed will repay itself later in the series.

“In the end you are going to be relying on each other,” he said.

“The boot could be on the other foot tomorrow, who knows. She could be doing something to save my bacon.”

Moffatt will soon be facing the first bushtucker trial of the series, along with Strictly Come Dancing's Ola Jordan, Diversity dancer Jordan Banjo, and Olympic hockey player Sam Quek.
