Superman actor Henry Cavill has expressed an interest in becoming the next James Bond.

The British film star seems keen on taking on the iconic super-spy, with Daniel Craig’s future in the franchise uncertain following 2015's Spectre.

Speaking on the Graham Norton Show, Cavill said that he would ‘love’ the chance to take on 007.

“Obviously I’m very busy with the Superman stuff, but if there were any windows and they wanted me to do that kind of role it would be great, and I would love to do it,” he said.

Asked if he thought it would be greedy to be both Superman and Bond, the actor joked: “Greedy or awesome?”

Cavill is currently starring in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, with Ben Affleck debuting as Bruce Wayne.

“I really like this version of Batman. When [director Zack Snyder] asked me, I didn’t think I would be right for the role, and he said, ‘He’s completely broken down, he’s older, falling apart and morally bankrupt – you’re perfect for it!’”

“It was an interesting challenge and certainly a risk, but it’s not what people expect.”
