Ross Kemp has revealed he’d ‘love’ to appear in a future series of BBC ballroom competition Strictly Come Dancing.
The former EastEnders actor is a fan of the show but pulled out of the 2008 series as he had just returned from filming a documentary series in Afghanistan.
He told The Daily Star newspaper: “I love Strictly Come Dancing. I have been asked before.”
“I was going to do it. Then I got home from Camp Bastion after being shot at and thought: ‘No, don’t be so silly.’"
The presenter also admitted he wouldn’t rule out making an appearance in future series, saying: “I’ll never say never to anything.”
Kemp’s comments come after the 53-year-old’s Extreme World series was dropped by Sky1 following the broadcaster's decision to prioritise drama programmes over factual entertainment.
A spokesperson for Sky explained: “Going forward we are shifting away from commissioning factual shows on the channel, and Ross Kemp’s Extreme World will be coming to an end after its upcoming series.
“Ross remains a much-loved member of the Sky1 family. He in talks with him about exciting new factual entertainment projects for the channel.”

The presenter might want to watch out, however, as he has some competition from Love Island runners-up Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt.
Speaking in a recent interview, the pair confessed they’d love the chance to front the kind of hard-hitting documentaries Kemp is known for.
However, Kemp always has the option of returning to Albert Square to reprise his role as Grant Mitchell.
When asked if he’d consider a return to EastEnders, he said: "You know what, in life, particularly if you work in television, who knows? Never rule out anything!"
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One later this year.
