EastEnders fans were left confused by Linda Carter’s somewhat nonchalant reaction to husband Mick Carter being kidnapped in the latest storyline.

At the end of Tuesday night’s episode, Danny Dyer’s character was attacked after he went out to his car outside the Queen Vic pub.

Despite his trying to resist, Mick was overpowered and bundled into the back of the van by the two men.

Going to the window to see where her husband had got to, Linda – played by Kellie Bright – watched in horror as her husband was kidnapped – but fans were left confused as to why Linda didn’t do anything, other than press her face to the glass.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: “So, all Linda did was just breath on the glass?! Doesn’t she know how to use a phone to dial the police? #EastEnders.”

While another wrote: “Why didn’t Linda open the window and screamed for help, alerting the people in the square and markets, instead of gawping through the window?? #eastenders.”

“So Linda looks out of the window and sees her man being roughed up and abducted by thugs and just stands there looking traumatised. I don't know about anyone else but I'd have dived through that window and battered them before they even knew I was there #EastEnders,” posted somebody else.

Mick’s kidnapping fate had been instructed by Aidan Maguire, the gangster Mick had been involved on a job with that resulted in his being shot.

Battling to save the Vic after losing it as part of Max Branning’s schemes, the Carters came into money just in time to buy the pub back and keep their home.

However, Aidan became suspicious of the landlord as the money from their heist has gone missing with the finger of suspicion pointing every which way.

EastEnders airs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday on BBC One.
