Christmas in Albert Square is usually a time for dramatic showdowns, tearful revelations and a shock death or two… and this year is no different.

With a number of long-running storylines coming to a head and a couple of new ones in the making, Christmas is set to go off with a bang in Albert Square.

Here’s everything you need to know in the run up to (arguably) the biggest TV event of the day.

If you want to save all the details for later then turn back now… there are one of two spoilers ahead.

1. A few old faces drop by

It wouldn’t be Christmas in E20 without one of the East End’s favourite couples (hint: they even tied the knot on Christmas Day).

Yes – Kat and Alfie will pay Stacey a surprise visit but it quickly becomes apparent that not all is as it seems.

2. Bobby shows his true colours

Will Bobby Beale strike again? He’s already killed his sister, pushed his mum down the stairs and attacked Phil Mitchell with a golf club… but someone else gets on the wrong side of the youngster on Christmas day.

After an altercation with Denny… the pair end up together on Walford Common with a desperate Sharon hot on their heels.

Will the Mick and Linda even make it to their wedding day?

3. Vincent’s feud with the Mitchells steps up a notch

There’s no love lost between Vincent and Phil Mitchell with it all set to come to a dramatic head over Christmas.

Someone pulls a gun and someone ends up in the boot of Ronnie Mitchell’s car. We all know how that ended last time.

4. Someone dies

Producers have confirmed that a ‘much-loved’ character will die on Christmas Day but are staying tight-lipped about who it actually is.

With Bobby on the rampage, Charlie Slater’s dodgy heart playing up and Phil’s hard drinking going into overdrive, it’s anybody’s bet.

5. When it’s on

Friday 25th December – 8:45pm (one hour special)

Saturday 26th December – 7:30pm

Monday 28th December – 8pm

Tuesday 29th December – 7:30pm

Friday 1st January – 6:30pm and 8pm (two thirty minute specials)
