X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger was slammed by viewers after she appeared on Sunday night’s show without a poppy.

Scherzinger looked stunning in a white floor length gown, but fans were quick to notice the missing poppy which was worn by fellow judges Sharon Osbourne, Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh.

The former Pussycat Doll was branded “disrespectful” by some, while another joked that Cowell should “pop out” in an ad break to buy her one.

One user posted: “Anybody else noticed Nicole hasn’t got a poppy on show a bit disrespectful as all other judges have there’s on.”

Another wrote: “So she’s not British, I still think that being in the public eye and being on live British TV Nicole should be wearing a poppy! #xfactor2017.”

Scherzinger was later spotted wearing a poppy, with a spokesperson saying the commemorative badge fell off as she walked out on to the stage.

“Nicole's poppy fell off her outfit on the walk to the stage,” they said.

“She was alerted during the recording and put a poppy on during the break. Nicole has been wearing a poppy over the past week, including the Saturday show.”

The furore came a day after she was mocked for looking like a giant poppy in a red dress.

It was a bittersweet weekend for Scherzinger whose contestant Kevin Davy White won the sing-off, while Tracy Leanne Jefford was sent home after losing out on the public vote.

Praising Jefford, Scherzinger said: “She is the heart of the show, she is what the show is all about and she will continue to be the heart of the show.”

Leon Mallet also lost his place in the competition after failing to impress with his twist on Daft Punk’s Get Lucky.
