Caroline Flack has appeared to subtly hint at the ups and downs of her relationship with ex-fiancé Andrew Brady, admitting that sometimes people need to “try again” with relationships.

The couple – who called off their three-month engagement earlier this month – were rocked by split rumours throughout their whirlwind romance.

Flack appeared to hit back at those who criticised her for sticking by him in the wake of cheating accusations during Sunday night’s live Aftersun.

Dumped Love Islander Jack Fowler was talking about his relationship with Laura Anderson, saying he cared for her so wanted to make another go of it shortly before meeting Laura Crane and coupling up with her.

Speaking about Anderson he said: “I missed her and I thought if I try again and it works brilliant, if I don’t then we’re back to square one. At that moment in time I didn’t know so I thought, give it another try.”

Flack replied: “Sometimes you’ve got to try again to find out.”

Neither Flack nor Brady have confirmed why they called off their engagement, but sources claim she had “trust issues”.

They reportedly split briefly in March after a woman claimed to have spent the night with Brady. He denied the accusations at the time, telling The Sun that he had “never seen the woman before in his life”.

Flack this weekend opened up about her split from the former Celebrity Big Brother star, saying she doesn’t fear being single.

“Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t,” she told Fabulous. “That’s life. I’ve got nothing negative to say about it. It is what it is.

“I don’t fear being single at all. When I was younger I did because people tell you that you have to have done this and that by a certain time – you should have kids by this time and you should be married – and we’re kind of taught that by books and fairy tales.”

Love Island is on ITV2, tonight at 9pm
