Debbie McGee admits she and Strictly Come Dancing partner Giovanni Pernice had a ‘sparkle’

Debbie McGee has opened up about her ‘chemistry’ with Strictly Come Dancing partner Giovanni Pernice on Loose Women.

She told the other panellists that she and the professional dancer had “a sparkle and just loved to dance together”.

McGee also joked about about a time during Strictly training that she’d played a trick on Pernice by hiding something under her skirt.

“When we were doing the salsa, which had the famous lift when Giovanni put his hands between my legs.

“I went home and I printed off a sign that said ‘privato’, which is private in Italian. I had a little rehearsal skirt and I pinned it under my skirt.

“So when he went to put his hands between my legs in practice I lifted up my skirt to show the sign,” she explained.

McGee was a contestant on the 2017 series of Strictly, placing runner-up in the final.

She and Pernice were dogged with rumours of a romance after viewers noted the pair’s chemistry.

But the pair have consistently denied being anything more than friends, and Pernice has recently gone public with his relationship with TOWIE star Jessica Wright,

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One later this year.
