The man responsible for ending the Cold War and uniting the planet in red shorts (sort of) is returning to TV screens this summer on June 18 at 9pm on Dave, the apt home for David Hasselhoff’s new vehicle Hoff The Record.
In this semi-improvised comedy where The Hoff plays a version of The Hoff, the former star of Knight Rider, Baywatch, Baywatch Nights and the charts moves to the UK to revive his career.
This is some comedown for Hasselhoff, who played Nick Fury in Nick Fury: Agent of SHIELD long before Marvel’s roster of superheroes were injected with multi-million dollar budgets and shoved in front of a green screen for 37 hours a day.
Hasselhoff’s fame means we assume we know all there is know about one of pop culture’s most enduring characters, but this new show reveals The Hoff has an illegitimate German son named Dieter and a useless entourage on permanent standby.

Filmed in and around London (with Hasselhoff employing disguises to remain unrecognised), Hoff The Record follows his efforts to star in an independent film through to becoming a global peacemaker. Again.
