Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood break down in tears as they split up on camera

Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood can be seen breaking down in tears as they split up in front of cameras on their show, Crackin’ On.

In scenes to be aired on Wednesday’s show, the pair have an emotional chat, which sees Attwood attempt to understand why Hughes has decided to end their relationship.

He tearfully tells her: “I f****** love you and I always will, you know that. Nothing doubts that.”

An upset Olivia responds: “I don’t want to keep hearing it though, it doesn’t make me feel any better.

It makes me feel worse. "I’d rather you just say ‘I don’t love you anymore’. I can’t keep hearing that because that’s f****** with my head."

Hughes hits back: “But I can’t do that though.”

Attwood says: “I would never have walked away from us.”

An angry Hughes replies: “I’m not walking away from us, I’m saying it’s the only thing that we can do. We’ve tried everything Liv and we’re not f****** happy.”

The trailer comes after the pair became embroiled in a Twitter spat, after Chris Hughes spoke out about receiving death threats off the back off the show and slated unnamed individuals for encouraging trolls.

Attwood tweeted denying she had encouraged anyone to send death threats, writing: "Just for the record I have never and would never encourage online hate, toward anyone, as I have been on the receiving end of that myself.

"Must be a strange adjustment, to not have someone else to blame for absolutely everything."

In a now-deleted tweet Hughes wrote: "Don't start a war behind someone's back, and not expect them to speak up.

"Someone was quick to unlike those tweets about me being emotionally abusive, a bully etc for sticking up for myself in a 40 minute edited tv show.

"We were once best friends, nasty how things change people."

His comments prompted the former grid girl to post: The desperation Chris please leave me and my family alone. Especially my 18 year old brother, we are all bored of you and the trouble you have caused."

Adding: "As if it's only midday on Monday, holy frick balls. Is it too early for a glass of wine?"

The new series is a fly and the wall look at Attwood and Hughes’ life together after meeting on ITV2 dating show Love Island.

They split during filming, after which episodes of the show were reportedly cut in half, something Attwood has since denied.

Having had a bumpy ride in the Love Island villa, Attwood and Hughes' relationship was no less rocky once they left the series.

During their short time together, both were accused of being unfaithful, with Attwood photographed leaving a club with ex-boyfriend Bradley Dack in August and Hughes being caught on camera appearing to kiss a mystery woman on a night out in November.

Chris and Olivia: Crackin’ On airs Wednesday 21 at 10pm on ITVBe.
