Alesha Dixon came under fire from viewers after she described the members of one Britain’s Got Talent act as “sexy chocolate men”.

Dixon, 37, made the remark while praising opera group Vox Fortura for their rendition of David Bowie’s 1977 hit, Heroes.

“Four sexy chocolate men,” she said as they wrapped up their performance.

She continued: “Polished to perfection. That was sensational.”

Angered viewers took to Twitter to slam the remark with some calling for the singer to make a public apology while others called for her to be axed from the show.

One user tweeted: “#BGT So @AleshaOfficial is disrespectful to one act and then says 'chocolate men' Not great tonight. A public apology is needed! #BGT2016.”

Another posted: “Omg.. Alesha Dixon is the most rude and disrespectful person. Firstly pressing other people's buzzers, then the 'chocolate men' comment #BGT.”

A third wrote: “Alesha Dixon.. should not be representing Britain.. disrespectful and racist.. gone by the morning hopefully #BGT2016 #bgt (sic).”

It comes a day after host Declan Donnelly came under fire for referring to girl group Zyrah Rose as “touchable”.

Donnelly, 40, made the comment about the four girls after Simon Cowell branded them “untouchable” as he critiqued their performance.

Defending the group – who are all in their 20s – Donnelly quipped: “They don’t look untouchable to me – they look very touchable to me.”

Wednesday night's semi-final saw Balance Unity and Amanda Holden's Golden Buzzer act Beau Dermott secure a place in the final over Bollywest Fusion, Bespoke Candi, Christian Lee, The Collaborative Orchestra & Singers, Danny Beard and Tumar KR.

They will join 100 Voice of Gospel, Mel and Jamie, Wayne Woodward, Alexandr Magala, Boogie Storm and Richard Jones.

Britain's Got Talent is on ITV tonight at 7:30pm.
