ITV has announced it will be moving the Britain’s Got Talent final to ensure that it doesn’t clash with Ariana Grande’s benefit concert for victims of the terror attack in Manchester.

An ITV spokesperson said the broadcaster had “no desire to distract” from the concert, which will air live on BBC One on Sunday June 4 from 6-9pm.

A statement read: “Ariana Grande's 'One Love Manchester' benefit concert is bringing artists and the public together, and will raise funds for the Red Cross's Manchester Emergency Fund.

“ITV and Britain's Got Talent have no desire to distract from this important cause, so we have taken the decision to move the Britain's Got Talent Final from Sunday night.”

The BGT final will now air on ITV on Saturday June 3rd at 7.30pm, while the British Soap Awards, which were originally scheduled to air on Saturday night, have been moved to Tuesday June 6 at 8pm.

It was announced yesterday that Grande was planning a concert at the Emirates Old Trafford Ground to pay tribute and raise money for those affected by the suicide bombing that took place at her concert on May 22.

Twenty-two people were killed and dozens injured when suicide bomber Salman Abedi detonated an explosive in the foyer of Manchester’s MEN Arena.

Grande said she had been left “broken” by the devastating attack, but promised fans she would return to the “incredibly brave” city for a concert “in honour of and to raise funds for the victims and their families”.

Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Coldplay and Miley Cyrus are among the stars who will perform at the fundraising event.
