After last week brought us brain-teasing magic from soldier Richard Jones, and the soul-tingling choir 100 Voices of Gospel, Britain’s Got Talent is back with more of the unexpected.

The latest round of auditions includes a drag queen with a surprising ability, a retiree who plays the piano upside down, and another Golden Buzzer act.

Here are five must-see auditions from Episode 3.

1) Ruby Murry

Drag queens can be many things – fierce, campy, bitingly funny – but rarely do you expect them to be operatic. Enter Ruby Murry, who has Simon Cowell initially looking a little forlorn – until he belts out a storming rendition of Nessun Dorma.

2) Colin Henry

This is what Britain’s Got Talent’s all about – seeing things you never knew you wanted to. 68 year-old Colin playing the piano while lying upside down and back to front falls firmly into that category.

3) Ian and Anne Marshall

The act that prompted David Walliams to press the Golden Buzzer aren’t good in the traditional sense. But married couple Ian and Anne, celebrating 44 years together, gave a jazz-tinged performance of Beyonce’s Crazy In Love that was, well, as crazy and it was lovely. Who know what they’ll do in the semi-finals.

4) Balance

Some will undoubtedly be a little sceptical of Balance – with a catchy stage name (he’s actually Taylor Goodridge) and a dance routine than incorporates Susan Boyle’s legendary audition from BGT history, he was always destined to go down well. Still, he’s undeniably talented and supremely entertaining to watch.

5) Kathleen Jenkins

It’s easy to sum up 25 year-old Welsh cleaner Kathleen Jenkins’ audition: emotional. With a huge and powerful voice, Jenkins left the audience with their jaws dropped and her dad in tears when she belted out Wild Horses.
