Coming out: Raph revealed he realised he was gay while watching Niall Horan on X Factor

Big Brother contestant Raph has revealed he realised he was gay while watching former One Direction star Niall Horan perform on The X Factor.

In a conversation with the other housemates about Raph’s relationship history, Joe asked how he discovered his sexuality.

Raph admitted that despite having girlfriends in the past, he later realised he was gay.

“When I was watching Niall on X Factor. I remember watching, and wanting to re-watch and I was very interested in him,” he said.

“But like when I was younger as well, I wanted to be friends with certain guys. I didn’t ever conceptualise it… I’m sure I knew really when I was younger as well, but it wasn’t like… sexual, if you will.”

Elsewhere in the house Chanelle gave Isabelle some sex education classes – teaching her how to put a condom on a banana.

Detailing the uses of the contraceptive method, she explained: “Benefits of condoms… There are lots of sexual diseases going around such as herpes and other things. You should always be safe.”

Also in Friday’s show, it was revealed that the new second chance housemates Andrew, Sam, Simone and Sue hold “great power” as they’re the only contestants with the ability to nominate others for eviction.

The rest of the housemates will have to earn back the right to nominate and those who do will be able to influence the second chance housemate’s nominations.

Big Brother told the housemates that it would be opening up a special area of the house called “the void” where the usual rules about not discussing nominations wouldn’t apply giving contestants the chance to talk about who they want to see leave the show.

Big Brother continues tonight at 10pm on Channel 5.
