Big Brother housemate Arthur Fulford left viewers fuming as he encouraged people to ‘play’ the benefits system to ‘take what they can get’.

Talk turned political in the house as Arthur, who is the son of a Lord, clashed with fellow housemate Imran Javeed during a debate over benefits.

Arthur said: “I’ve always had a view towards benefits that, actually, do you know what, that you should really take whatever you can get.

“At the end of the day, the belief that I have is if you’ve got it, you’ve got to flaunt it and if there’s a system, play it.”

Clearly unimpressed by his comments Imran – who is in the house with his wife, Sukhvinder – replied: “I see what you’re saying, fair enough, but how can we progress if we just think about ourselves?

“We can’t progress. We need to help each other. I need to help you and you need to help me.”

He continued: “If we don’t help each other, you’re going to do your own thing, I’m going to do my own thing, and if you starve, and you go hungry I’m going to stand here and say, ‘Tough mate, you’ve made your bed.’”

Arthur suggested Imran's view was based on jealousy, to which he replied: “It’s not jealousy, it’s humanity. It’s got nothing to do with jealousy. You think it’s OK to exploit the Welfare State? I disagree with that.”

'Dumb': Arthur Fulford faced a backlash over his comments

Arthur’s “stinking” comments riled viewers who deemed him “dumb” and “ignorant”.

One viewer tweeted: “That posh p***** views on benefits in Big Brother is absolutely stinking (sic).”

Another posted: “He's probably talking that c*** because he's just taken from his family so doesn't know what it's like in the real world.”

Arthur later found himself the third wheel in his own bed as Ellie Young jumped in to cuddle Lotan Carter.

Elllie said: “I just want someone to like me for just been me.”

Like a knight in shining armour, Lotan replied: “You're a walking f****** festival! The reason I like you is because you make me smile. You make me want to be happy... a lot.”

The pair then shared a kiss.

Their public display of affection came hours after Lotan claimed he “turns women f****** crazy”.
