Kicking off a mere three days before election night, Big Brother is set to challenge the public to a different kind of vote.
The launch show will see would-be housemates campaign to get elected into the competition by earning the support of viewers.
Reports suggest the prospective contestants will each be given dedicated camera time to make their case to the nation, before it’s put to the public vote.
A source told The Sun: “Big Brother bosses are really running with the election fever of the country this year and mocking up housemates as political party leaders. Like a real-life politician the hopeful housemates will have to convince the public to vote for them with a convincing speech.

“It will all be filmed live so they will be under pressure not to fluff up their speeches. It will be an exciting twist to the opening night shenanigans.”
The news comes days after the 2017 logo was revealed, featuring a Union Jack Pattern with icons of Britishness from red phone boxes to kilts and cups of tea.
Show bosses have teased that this year’s series will be a “must-watch culture clash” with “more fireworks than you could imagine”.
Emma Willis will present the launch night and main shows, with Rylan Clark-Neal returning to host spin-off programme Big Brother’s Bit on the Side.
Big Brother returns to Channel 5 on June 5 at 8.30pm.
