We all need the heartwarming treat that is Great British Bake Off back in our lives, and it's not long now until we can tuck into series 11 of the beloved series.

The new series is set to see a series of changes from within the tent of dreams, after fan favourite Sandi Toksvig bid the bakers adieu at the end of series 10 – which leads to a new presenter joining the tent to rise to the occasion.

With a fresh batch of bakers in store for more tears, soggy bottoms and Hollywood handshakes, here’s everything we can expect from Bake Off series 11.

When does the Great British Bake Off start on Channel 4?

Mark this in your calendars; the new GBBO series will premiere on Channel 4 today, Tuesday, September 22 at 8pm.

The announcement comes after the show shared a trailer for the upcoming show.

Earlier this year, the show’s usual filming schedule was been delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

A statement from Channel 4 read: “We continue to monitor the situation and follow the advice of Public Health England and we will delay filming on The Great British Bake Off until it is safe to proceed."

Who are the hosts on the Great British Bake Off?

With Sandi Toksvig having quit Bake Off after three years to “focus on other projects”, there was a gaping hole left in the heart of the show.

Little Britain star Matt Lucas was then confirmed to be hosting alongside Noel Fielding for series 11.

“I’m chuffed to bits to be joining the most delicious show on television. I can’t wait to break bread with Noel, Prue and Paul and meet the brilliant bakers,” he said in a statement.

"And bearing in mind my love of cake, I’ve already ordered some much larger trousers in anticipation. See you in the tent!

Current co-host Fielding added: "I love Matt. I love his warmth and his comedy and his big joyful smile. I think if we play our cards right we could become the next Chas and Morph.”

Who are the judges on the Great British Bake Off?

As always, our hopefuls will try to stop soggy bottoms and nail an infamous handshake as Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood will be back to decided who will be crowned Britain’s best amateur baker.
