Apprentice viewers may have found the latest episode difficult to watch as Team Vitality spent hours walking round in circles and Elizabeth marched her group through Bruges – but Claude Littner saved the show with his brief stint on a Segway.

The stony-faced businessman was seen joining in with the candidates as they enjoyed a ride aboard the self-balancing scooters in the Belgian city.

The official Twitter account for the show joked that footage of Littner on the Segway could rival Blue Planet 2.

Viewers agreed with one saying Littner had “won” the show, while another hailed the clip their “new favourite thing ever”.

But others were less than impressed with Wednesday night’s episode and slated Lord Sugar for not dishing out a double or even triple firing after Team Vitality failed the challenge.

The teams were tasked with creating a day tour in Bruges, which descended into chaos as Anisa Topan and Charles Burns walked aimlessly around the city in a bid to find a tourist hotspot, while Andrew Brady was criticised by Karen Brady for acting like a “lad” during an abysmal beer tasting.

Team leader Sarah Jayne Clark was fired after bringing Charles and Andrew back into the board room – but viewers were disappointed after Lord Sugar failed to follow it up with a second firing.

Some accused him of “bottling” it with one tweeting: “How did the two chaps survive that?! Could have sworn a double firing and Sarah-Jane going back to the house. Possibly worst decision.”

Another wrote: “Boooooo I'm gutted. Big Al bottled it, should've been at least a double.”
