Horrifying trials aside, there's not much to do in the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! jungle, so the stars often spend their hours recalling tales from their time in the spotlight.

Thursday's episode saw plenty of interesting snippets of gossip revealed - including Caitlyn Jenner's comments on the Kardashian clan - but one conversation sparked a fantastic reaction from a certain celebrity.

Adele Roberts enjoyed an in-depth chat about romance with her new BFFs Nadine Coyle and Jacqueline Jossa, who both had plenty to tell.

Nadine, 34, was up first and explained how she met one of her most famous exes, Desperate Housewives star Jesse Metcalfe.

Stunned: Adele was taken aback by Nadine and Jacqueline's tales

“My second boyfriend was an actor and I’d fancied him from TV," she explained. "I used to think he is so gorgeous and I was doing an interview and it was one of those ‘who do you fancy?’ things and I said the gardener from Desperate Housewives.”

At this point, it soon became clear Adele did not previously know about the relationship, as she looked stunned and chipped in: “Jesse Metcalfe? I didn’t know, oh that’s amazing.”

Her hilarious, surprised face soon won praise from fans:

“Yes I met him out we had a great night, it was just like everything was right," Nadine continued. "He came over to me and I thought, woo you smell amazing. I went out to the bathroom and he came behind me and pulled me back and said you are going into the men’s. It wasn’t, it was the ladies but he said he just want to say something to me.

“I went to go and he said, can I come with you and I said yeah, you can. He left everyone he was with.

"We had a great time, he was really passionate and fun, we went out for two and a half years. Physically he was my ideal man.”

Adele then asked Jacqueline if she knew her husband Dan Osborne before they went out - and received another fantastic answer.

“I was recently single and going on a singles night at work and we were texting through the night and I told him where I was and he sent a shocked face and said ‘Oh no a single’s night, I’ll have to get in there quick.’"

She continued: “He then said he would come and pick me up, I was so nervous but the second I spoke to him we really got on, had the best night and were laughing and joking the whole time.

“In the car on the way home he texted me to say he felt so lucky to have met me, he’d had the best few days and felt he’d fallen for me already. I was in the back of the car thinking, he’s so fit and he likes me! And from there we got on and liked each other, it was really cute."

Adele was equally stunned by Jacqueline's story:

Elsewhere in the episode, all of the camp mates took on a series of trials to lift a "curse" and win access to a slap-up meal.

Nadine and Roman Kemp were victorious in the first task, despite the fact the Girls Aloud star initially faltered, and they were joined for the luxury meal by Myles Stephenson, Andrew Maxwell, Andy Whyment and Adele.

The group chowed down on wallaby sausages, celeriac, purple kale and dragon fruit for dessert. Myles and Roman cooked the meal for everyone which they all thoroughly enjoyed.

I'm A Celebrity continues on ITV.
