Tuppence Middleton will star in The One at Soho Theatre in a role previously played by Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Middleton, who has appeared in a host of TV dramas including War and Peace and Netflix’s Sense8, will play Jo in the first revival of Vicky Jones’ Verity Bargate Award-winning play.

The One explores the dynamics of long-term couple Jo and Harry, whose relationship is interrupted by late-night visits from Harry’s friend, Kerry. It was first staged at Soho Theatre in 2014, with Waller-Bridge starring alongside Rufus Wright.

Jones is one half of theatre company DryWrite, which she runs alongside Waller-Bridge. She directed Fleabag from its inception on stage, and premiered new play Touch at Soho Theatre last year. The One was her debut play.

The production will be directed by Soho Theatre’s artistic director, Steve Marmion, who also directed it for its 2014 premiere. It runs from July 5 - August 25; sohotheatre.com
