Sing-a-song of terrorism

Jihad: The Musical is an entertaining, if untaxing, show

In Jihad: The Musical, co-writers Zoe Samuel and Ben Scheuer have an entertaining - if untaxing - show that follows the story of a "hapless Afghan peasant" caught up in terrorism and gives it a Broadway treatment.

There are many funny-clever moments and the standout Jihad Jive - Sorab Wadia as an al Qaeda leader does a song-and-dance routine with cuties in spangly burqas.

But having bravely taken on a subject that could offend many, the show's creators take the easy option with a feelgood ending.
