Prunella plays it mental

10 April 2012

After much recent success with its musical compilation shows, the redoubtable King's Head Theatre is turning to straight drama for its latest offering, Mary Morris's Too Far To Walk. Prunella Scales, whose impressive list of theatre credits is permanently fated to be overshadowed by her turns as Sybil in Fawlty Towers and the penny-pincher of the Tesco ads, tops the bill.

Too Far To Walk, tells of the reuniting of two sisters after more than 50 years. Clarissa (Scales) has been held in a mental institution for half a century. She has had no contact with Olivia (Gillian Axtell) since childhood, but hopes that one day the distance between them will not prove to be as the play's title suggests. Lucy Skilbeck, oversees.

  • Previews from Tue 12 Nov, first night Wed 20 Nov, King's Head Theatre, 115 Upper Street, N1 (020-7226 1916).
