Love Never Dies will be the next Andrew Lloyd Webber musical available to watch online for free this coming weekend.
It is the latest production announced as part of his The Shows Must Go On initiative to make Lloyd Webber’s back catalogue available to home audiences while London’s theatres are closed.
The 2012 production of Love Never Dies starred Ben Lewis and Anna O’Byrne, and is the sequel to The Phantom of the Opera, which was screened over the weekend.
It will be available to watch for 48 hours from Friday April 24 at 7pm on The Shows Must Go On YouTube channel.
The story picks up 10 years after the events of The Phantom of the Opera, in 1907 when the Phantom has escaped to a new life in New York where he lives on Coney Island. He pines for Christine, whose marriage to Raoul isn’t what she hoped it would be. When she accepts an invitation to perform at a renowned opera house in New York, the Phantom lures her back into his world.
This is the fourth show in Lloyd Webber’s run of releases, also following Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Jesus Christ Superstar.
The online broadcast of The Phantom of the Opera proved a huge hit with audiences, with over 11 million people watching from home.
