Oz gets news look in Westway

Misses its chance: Somewhere over the Westway
10 April 2012

Lurking somewhere under Somewhere-over the Westway is the perfect modern Wizard of Oz spoof. Unfortunately, Kansas cornfields of mediocrity cover the few inspired ideas in a show subtitled "the Portobello Panto".

The jewellery-bedecked Tin Man has become a "person made entirely of bling"; the Wizard, Sir Bob Gandalf, is planning a Wiz-Aid benefit gig to feed the Munchkins. Still, a lot more heel-clicking from this heavily pregnant Dorothy is needed to rectify the rest.
