Julie at the National Theatre: Exclusive first look at Vanessa Kirby in rehearsals

1/11

The first images of Vanessa Kirby in rehearsals for Julie at the National Theatre have been released.

Kirby returns to the stage following her widely-acclaimed performance as Princess Margaret in The Crown. She will play the title role in the world premiere of Polly Stenham’s contemporary Strindberg update.

The actress was last on stage in 2016: she starred in Robert Icke’s adaptation of Uncle Vanya at the Almeida, and reprised her role as Stella in the Young Vic’s A Streetcar Named Desire for its Broadway transfer.

Stenham’s version transports the 19th century drama to contemporary London, beginning with a late night house party.
