The Other Art Fair 2018: You can get a feminist tattoo from Brooklyn-based artist

1/9

This year’s Other Art Fair will offer visitors the chance to get a stick and poke feminist tattoo, giving a whole new meaning to ‘taking the artwork home with you’.

Guest artist Bluestone Babe who is based in Brooklyn, will be tattooing in the UK for the first time, offering visitors the chance to get an exclusive inking.

All tattoos will be first come, first served - no pre-booking is required and slots are limited, so turn up early.

Over half of the artists at this year’s fair will be female, offering the chance to get to know rising female talents in an art world that remains male-dominated.

Other highlights will include Morag Myerscough taking over the fair’s entrance in colourful style, and Fei Alexeli turning one of her artworks into a live neon bar installation where cocktails will be served.

Lubaina Himid is amongst artists who created postcard-sized artworks for the fair, and The Big Issue will have a stand selling artworks created by their vendors.

The Other Art Fair launched in 2011 and has since facilitated art sales in excess of £4 million, with over 60% of those who bought art being first time buyers.
